Approximately 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees will participate in the festivities. They will be carried on more than 90 boats down the Seine River, with larger NOCs having their own boat while smaller ones will share a vessel. Around 220,000 invited and security-screened spectators are expected to fill the upper tiers of the Seine’s banks, while an additional 104,000 paying spectators will watch from the lower riverside and around the Trocadéro plaza.

The parade route will cover a 3.7-mile stretch of the Seine, starting at the Austerlitz Bridge beside the Jardin des Plantes and passing by historic landmarks such as Notre-Dame and the Louvre before concluding at the Iena Bridge. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live starting at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC and will also be available for streaming on Peacock and NBC Olympic platforms.

Leading Team USA as the flag bearer will be U.S. Open winner Coco Gauff and NBA star LeBron James. Gauff, who is making her Olympic debut, expressed her excitement for the experience and hopes to cherish it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
