Two men were arrested in Florida for armed robbery after they allegedly robbed two individuals at gunpoint and stole their cellphones outside an apartment building. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Jamel Hernandez and 23-year-old Kareem Hernandez were charged with armed robbery with a firearm and armed burglary.

The victims were sitting in a vehicle off Douglas Oaks Circle in Tampa when the suspects approached them and forcibly took their phones. Fortunately, one of the victims was able to track their phone, which helped law enforcement track down the suspects.

Deputies and members of the Tampa Police Department were able to locate the suspects’ vehicle with the help of the phone tracking. Video footage of the arrest shows police vehicles surrounding the suspects’ vehicle and ordering them out with their hands up before detaining them.

Sheriff Chad Chronister praised the teamwork between different law enforcement agencies that led to the swift arrest of the armed robbery suspects. He emphasized the commitment to ensuring the safety of Hillsborough County residents by taking dangerous criminals off the streets.
