Three individuals lost their lives and eight others were injured in a tragic shooting incident at a trail ride party in Holmes County, Mississippi. The incident occurred as a group of young people gathered to celebrate a school’s homecoming football win a few hours after the game had ended.

According to Sheriff Willie March, the shooting took place on Highway 17 around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The group at the party got into a fight, which escalated when weapons were drawn and shots were fired. The three individuals who lost their lives were identified as Martel Gibson, 25, Shundra Chestnut, 19, and John Jenkins, 19.

In addition to the three fatalities, eight other individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to local hospitals for treatment. The sheriff mentioned that there were approximately 200 to 300 people at the trail ride party when the shooting occurred, causing panic and chaos as attendees fled the scene.
