The Beaverton Police Department has arrested Jonathan Bryce Schubert, a 27-year-old neighbor of Jubane, on suspicion of her murder. Court documents revealed that Schubert was accused of being “deliberately cruel” to the victim, using a weapon, and posing a threat of actual violence that resulted in permanent injury to Jubane before her death.
During Schubert’s first court appearance, which took place in September, he did not enter a plea. Authorities determined through an extensive investigation that Schubert was involved in Jubane’s disappearance. It remains unclear whether Jubane and Schubert knew each other prior to the tragic incident.
Reports indicate that Schubert previously worked as a nurse at Providence Portland Medical Center, although he was not employed at Providence St. Vincent where Jubane worked.
