Jarring footage captured the moment a car crashed into an Italian restaurant in Stone Mountain, Georgia, during brunch service over the weekend. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Saturday at Fresca Trattoria, where customers were enjoying their meals.

Owner Lisa Myers shared with FOX 5 Atlanta that the vehicle smashed into the restaurant, causing glass to shatter and sending customers running for safety just seconds before the impact. Fortunately, there were no reports of any deaths or injuries, but Myers mentioned that her daughter, who is a waitress at the restaurant, narrowly escaped harm as she had been standing in the exact spot where the car crashed just moments before.

According to Myers, the driver claimed that her brakes had failed due to her gas pedal becoming stuck. The surveillance footage captured the car plowing through the restaurant’s windows and driving over empty tables and chairs, causing significant damage to the establishment.

Myers expressed uncertainty about whether insurance would cover all the damages caused by the incident and humorously referred to Fresca Trattoria as a new “drive-thru” due to the unexpected turn of events. Despite the challenges faced, the restaurant took to Facebook on Sunday night to express gratitude to the local community for their support and well-wishes.

“The windows are boarded up, and the skies are cloudy, but we are choosing to see the silver lining,” the post read. “Nobody was hurt, and the outpouring of good wishes from the community has made us feel so very grateful to be in Stone Mountain / Lilburn.”

As Fresca Trattoria works on recovering from the unexpected car crash, the community’s support has been a source of comfort and encouragement. FOX News Digital reached out to the Gwinnett County Police Department and Fresca Trattoria for further comments on the incident.

In times of unforeseen events, the resilience and unity of a community can make a significant difference in overcoming challenges and moving forward. It serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together to support local businesses and individuals during times of need.
