Leatherface is back in the sequel streamer to the 1974 horror classic.
This latest iteration features Kim Henkel, the co-writer of Tobe Hooper’s original film and Fede Alvarez (of Evil Dead fame), as well as Fede Alvarez, writer-producer. Newcomer David Blue Garcia directs.
The setup: “After almost 50 years in hiding, Leatherface is back to terrorize a group young idealist friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully protected world in a remote Texas village.”
Here are some details about the storyline: “Melody, her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), Dante (Jacob Latimore), and Ruth (Nell Hudson) travel to Harlow, Texas in search of an idealistic business venture. Their dream quickly turns into a nightmare when they accidentally disturb Leatherface’s home. Leatherface is a serial killer who has left a bloody legacy that continues to haunt the area. This includes Sally Hardesty (Olwen Foluere), who was the only survivor in his 1973 massacre and is determined to exact revenge.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a film that debuted nearly 50 years ago. It inspired eight films about young people who stumble upon a Texas town and fall prey to the cannibalistic Leatherface family.
