The hugely-expensive transfer of Eden Hazard from Chelsea to Real Madrid was a disaster for the Spanish giants. Saul Niguez thinks he knows why
Chelsea midfielder Saul Niguez has pinned nothing short of a nightmare.
Real Madrid, with numerous injuries exacerbating his poor form.
Saul is not surprised by his struggles. He defended him by insisting that Spanish football was a “totally other game” than the English top-flight.
When asked about the differences between La Liga and the Premier League, the 27-year old replied to Chelsea’s official website: “They are completely different.”
“Over there it’s more tactical. Here it’s more physical, and a lot more crazy. It’s more about the entertainment of the fans than controlling the game. There is more back-and-forth. Here you can do things that are impossible in La Liga.
“For instance, I was just talking to my friends about Eden Hazard.
“He was one of the most respected players in the world when he arrived, and then he moves to La Liga where he faces his own challenges because it is a completely different game.
He had more one-vs-1s than two-vs-1s, but in La Liga because everyone knows how great his team and how talented he is, other teams make things more difficult.
“Here it is happening in reverse, but I think it’s easier to adapt from La Liga into the Premier League than it is from the Premier League back to La Liga.”
