After a teenage victim was stabbed, police rushed to a street in the city.
Following reports of a stabbing, officers were summoned to Motum Road just before 2.15pm on Thursday February 3.
The teenager was transported to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where he received treatment. He is currently in stable condition with only minor but not life-threatening injuries.
Five people were arrested in Magpie Road after initial inquiries.
They were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centres and Aylsham Police Investigation Centres, for questioning.
Following the stabbing, Magpie Road residents saw armed officers and dogs units.
From 3PM to 5PM, a complete road closure was in effect.
Local residents said that they didn’t know what was happening, but witnessed multiple people being taken into police vans.
Lauren Reeve, speaking after the arrests, said that she saw two people pass my house today. I later discovered one was an undercover officer as the kid he was in got arrested.
“They then came in more cops, and blocked all roads leading to it. They told people not to go down there. They broke down the door and got in, arresting four more.
Scott Caulderson lives right next to the scene of the arrests and said that they returned just after all had occurred. All I have seen so far is the police van outside.
Mohammed Hossen, Bengal Palace’s owner, said: “We heard a lot of police banging at the door so we went outside.
“When no one answered, we saw them smash the door. I don’t know what happened next.
“I saw that the road was blocked when I returned to this location at 3:00 today.” They searched someone, took his belongings and placed him in the back seat of the van.
Motum Road, Magpie Road are under police cordons. Investigations are ongoing.
