Broadway’s upcoming revival Funny Girl has been cast. Jane Lynch, Ramin Karaimloo, Jared Grimes, and Peter Francis James are among the new cast members. Toni DiBuono, Toni DiBuono, Debra Cardon, Debra Aardema and Debra Cardon are also joining the cast.
Producers Sonia Friedman and Scott Landis announced the casting today. David Babani also announced the complete cast. The entire creative team was also announced today, with Susan Hilferty as costume design, Kevin Adams as lighting and Brian Ronan sound designers.
The musical’s rehearsals are set to begin today. Previews will be held at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre on Saturday, March 26. An official opening ceremony will take place on Sunday, April 24,.
Michael Mayer will direct the Jule Styne/Bob Merrill/Isobel Leonnart musical. Fanny Brice will be played by Feldstein, Karimloo, Nick Arnstein, Lynch, Mrs. Rosie Brice, and Grimes, as Eddie Ryan.
Ephie Aardema will play Emma/Mrs. Debra Cardona will play Mrs. Meeker and Toni DiBuono will play Mrs. Strakosh. Martin Moran will be playing Tom Keeney. Julie Benko will play Fanny Brice Standby. Toni DiBuono will play Mrs. Strakosh.
Funny Girls will have choreography and tap choreography by Ellenore. Susan Hilferty and David Zinn will also be designing the scenic and costume designs. Sound design by Brian Ronan and Brian Ronan will sound. Hair & wig design are by Campbell Young Associates. Music direction and supervision is by Emmy Award winner Michael Rafter.
