Lamar Jackson said Monday he demanded a trade from the Baltimore Ravens.
In a series of posts on Twitter, the star quarterback said he requested a trade as early as March 2. On March 7, the Ravens tagged him as a non-exclusive franchise player.
The team said at the time that they were hopeful of a long-term agreement with him.
This version of the franchise player tag allowed Jackson to negotiate with other teams, but it allowed the Ravens to match any deal that was struck.
