It is the end of the paper for the six regional daily newspapers of the Coops de l’information (CN2i), which will abolish a hundred positions this year, or about a third of its workforce.
The newspapers Le Droit, Le Soleil, La Tribune, Le Nouvelliste, La Voix de l’Est and Le Quotidien, which had kept a paper edition on Saturdays, will cease to be printed at the end of the year, confirmed the company in a text published on the site of its various publications.
In the process, a hundred positions could be abolished. The cooperative hopes that voluntary departures will prevent layoffs.
It was not possible to have an immediate reaction from management or the employee union.
