This is the second day in a row that sporting events in the northeastern United States have been affected by wildfires north of the border. On Wednesday, several Major League Baseball games were postponed, as was a National Women’s Soccer League game in New Jersey and even an indoor WNBA game in Brooklyn.
The NFL’s New York Giants also canceled practice on Thursday.
On the Belmont Park side, the New York horse racing association canceled the races, two days before the presentation of the Belmont Stakes, the last stage of the Triple Crown.
