While summer is now well and truly here, the French are now waiting for the start of the school year to find out how the pension reform will be implemented, as well as how the system will now evolve. Pending this deadline, the Agirc-Arrco scheme currently offers 10,000 retirement preparation courses to employees of companies affiliated to the supplementary pension scheme. However, conditions exist to take advantage of it. We take stock for you.
This is the great concern for many French people, who now fear the implementation of the pension reform, recently adopted and then promulgated. In this context of major changes, the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension scheme has decided to offer future retirees preparation courses in order to feel more confident with this decisive process. These courses are thus presented during one or two, face-to-face or remotely.
Led by various experts, such as Agirc-Arrco advisers, psychologists, health professionals or even notaries, they are, as reported by our colleagues from Merci pour l’info!, a means of favoring “the times of exchange and practical exercises to promote real-life situations”. For retirees, this is therefore a dream opportunity to better understand this period, which is sometimes perceived as a difficult step to overcome, and to obtain adequate support.
During these internships, several themes must be addressed, in particular the procedures for retiring, the deadlines or the ways to proceed. They also have the mission of helping to build a retirement life project to better accept this change of life, but also to organize activities and improve social relations.
In addition, these courses are useful for prevention in order to know how to stay in shape and act on your health on a daily basis. They also provide information on the measures needed to best prepare your succession in the event of a problem. As Nicolas Pailloux from the Agirc-Arrco social action department explains, “preparatory courses allow you to take the time to consider this new moment in life”.
Nicolas Pailloux also continues by evoking the way in which certain situations manage to be unblocked under the effect of these internships, as well as the approaches that are emerging, but also the new projects. According to him, “participants […] attribute an average satisfaction rating of 9.6/10” to the course.
To benefit from it, you must be within three years of your retirement. This is one of the main conditions of this offer made by Agirc-Arrco. If you wish to register, you can contact the management or the human resources correspondent of your company. Internships are covered in the company’s training offer.
