(Boston) David Pastrnak scored to give the Bruins a second-period lead, adding an empty-net goal, and Boston won 2-1 against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday as young sensation Connor Bedard scored his first goal in the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Bruins scored a goal per period to secure their first victory of the season, against the Blackhawks, who had played against the Penguins the day before.

Trent Frederic also scored for the Bruins, while Linus Ullmark stopped 20 shots in the win.

Matthew Poitras, the Bruins’ rookie par excellence, assisted on Frederic’s goal for his first NHL point.

Arvid Soderblom stopped 32 shots for the Blackhawks.

Frederic tied the game in the first period, while Pastrnak beat Soderblom on the glove side to give his team the lead.

Pastrnak made it 3-1 when the opponent pulled their goalie for an extra player.
