Right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn is reportedly returning to the team that drafted him.
Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year, $11 million guaranteed contract, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The person informed The Associated Press, but wanted to remain anonymous because the agreement would depend on a physical test.
The pitcher would receive 10 million next season, while the contract would include an option that the team could take advantage of for the year 2025.
The Los Angeles Dodgers did not activate his option year earlier this month.
Lynn finished the season with a 13-11 record and a 5.73 ERA, his worst ERA in the majors by almost a full point.
The Cardinals selected Lynn 39th overall in the 2008 draft. The pitcher won the World Series with the team in 2011 and won 72 games in six seasons in St. Louis.
Lynn also represented the Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and Dodgers.
