He replaces Jean-Denis Combrexelle, who held this strategic position with Elisabeth Borne since July 17.
“Currently Director General of the Treasury, Emmanuel Moulin has perfect knowledge of the functioning of the State, which the Prime Minister was able to observe when he worked with him as Minister of Public Accounts”, specified the entourage of the new head of government this Wednesday, January 10.
A CV that says a lot. A graduate of Sciences-Po, Essec, Paris II University and ENA, Emmanuel Moulin joined the General Directorate of the Treasury in 1996 as deputy in the Transport office, then in the Treasury, political and monetary office in 1998 to 2000. Following this, the fifty-year-old was appointed alternate administrator of the World Bank in Washington.
In 2007, he was appointed deputy chief of staff to Christine Lagarde, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, where he was in charge of macroeconomic and financial files and European and international affairs. He then joined the Presidency of the Republic in June 2009 as economic advisor to President Nicolas Sarkozy.
