On January 12, 2023, Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, died suddenly at the age of 54. The day before, the singer was discovered unconscious in her room. Her ex-husband who was there then performed a cardiac massage before help arrived.
Arriving brain dead at the hospital, Lisa Marie Presley suffered a cardiac arrest. On site, his relatives made the decision to sign a non-resuscitation act due to his state of health. The King’s daughter died the next day at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles. The causes of his death will not be revealed until six months after his death. Following an obstruction in his small intestine, the star suffered a heart attack. She was buried alongside her father and son Benjamin in the King’s former residence at Graceland.
After the singer’s death, comes the question of her imposing legacy. In 2010, Lisa Marie Presley named her mother as one of the administrators of her estate, during her lifetime and after her death. Nomination which was withdrawn in 2016 for the benefit of his two children Benjamin (died in 2020) and Riley Keough. After the death of her daughter, Priscilla Presley then filed an appeal to contest her will.
A legal battle which ended after five months of negotiations. According to Entertainment Tonight, the granddaughter and her grandmother reached a compromise. The court confirmed the legitimacy of Riley Keough as sole trustee of her mother’s estate, while Priscilla Presley will be “the administrator of the subtrust of her son, Navarone Garibaldi”, the half-brother of Lisa Marie Presley, reported TF1 Info. The latter would be entitled to one ninth of his fortune. The ex-wife of Elvis Presley should, for her part, pocket a tidy sum amounting to 1.4 million dollars.
