Expensive Abarth 595 Spettacolo by Giannini Automobili
At a staggering price of €133,000 ($144,360), the Italian tuner Giannini Automobili has unveiled a new project based on the Abarth 595. The tiny sports car has been given a major makeover with a wide body kit and carbon fiber accents. The 1.4-liter engine has been tuned to produce 247 horsepower, allowing for a top speed of 280 km/h. But is this modified city car worth the hefty price tag?
Giannini Automobili, a renowned Italian tuner dating back to 1917, has made a comeback with the Spettacolo model. This joint venture between Impero and Groupo Maestri promises a unique and aggressive look for the Abarth 595. With custom body panels, enlarged air intakes, and a prominent front splitter, the Spettacolo stands out from the crowd. The carbon fiber 18-inch wheels and upward-opening doors further enhance its sporty appearance.
Under the hood, the Spettacolo boasts a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine producing 247 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. Paired with a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque interior and a reduced weight of 985 kg, this little beast can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. With only 200 units produced, each Spettacolo is a limited edition masterpiece.
Despite the astronomical price tag, Giannini Automobili has already started accepting orders for the Spettacolo. The company’s return to racing with the Time Attack Italia 2024 championship further underscores its commitment to performance and style. While some may question the exorbitant cost of this Abarth on steroids, there’s no denying the passion and craftsmanship that go into creating such a unique vehicle.
