Qatar Airways Crowned World’s Best Airline for 2024
AirlineRatings.com recently announced Qatar Airways as the prestigious Airline of the Year for 2024, surpassing other top contenders such as Air New Zealand, Korean Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Emirates. The decision was made by five experienced editors with a combined 100 years of industry knowledge, evaluating various factors like fleet age, passenger reviews, safety rating, and innovation.
Qatar Airways stood out in multiple key areas, particularly excelling in passenger reviews and service consistency. The airline claimed the top spot among the Top 25 premium airlines, with other notable winners including Korean Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Emirates. Qatar Airways received accolades for Best Business Class for the fifth consecutive year, along with Best Catering, while Air New Zealand secured Best Economy Class.
In addition, Singapore Airlines was recognized for Best First Class, Virgin Australia for Best Cabin Crew, Emirates for Best-In-Flight Entertainment and Best Premium Economy, and Qantas for Best Lounges. Etihad Airways was honored as the Best Environmental Airline for the third year in a row.
The Excellence in Long Haul travel awards were distributed regionally, with Qatar Airways, Korean Air, Air France, Air Canada, Latam, Turkish Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Air New Zealand emerging as winners. Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) clinched the title for Best Regional Airline.
