MLS News: Toronto FC Held to a Draw by DC United Despite Derrick Etienne’s Performance
In the latest Major Soccer League match, Toronto FC was held to a 2-2 draw by DC United on Saturday. Derrick Etienne made a significant impact by scoring the opening goal of the game.
Toronto FC’s recent performances have been disappointing, with only one point earned out of a possible six. In order to avoid a third consecutive match without a win, they were hoping to secure a victory against DC United. However, things did not go as planned, as they could only manage to secure a single point despite leading 2-0 at one point.
Early in the game, Bernadeshi set up Derrick Etienne for the opening goal in the 2nd minute. The Italian player then doubled the lead to make it 2-0. As the game neared its end, Theodore Ku-Dipietro scored for DC United to reduce the deficit. In the 95th minute, Mateusz Klich scored the equalizer for DC United.
Currently, Toronto FC sits in 5th place in the standings with 24 points, while DC United is in 10th place with 19 points.
