Many Mallorca holidaymakers are currently experiencing what the insolvency of FTI means at Palma airport: there is no hotel transfer.

An uncomfortable start to your vacation: Due to the insolvency of the tour operator FTI, many vacationers are encountering problems at the airport in Mallorca. They are faced with the challenge of having to make their own way to the hotel they have booked.

According to a report in the “Mallorca Zeitung”, there was a hectic atmosphere at the airport on Tuesday after the tour operator FTI filed for bankruptcy at the Munich District Court the day before. Around 4,000 holidaymakers are said to be on the island. According to the report, several hundred people were queuing at the FTI counter on Tuesday morning.

The “Mallorca Zeitung” reported on the desperation of some travelers, especially older people, who were looking for their hotel transfer.

An Austrian family who went on their honeymoon and paid 4,000 euros for the trip reported to the Mallorca newspaper about their frustration and uncertainty. “My husband read the message on the plane,” said the mother of two children. They were told at the counter that there was no longer a hotel transfer for FTI holidaymakers. They were now forced to make their own way to Sa Coma and hope that their hotel reservation was still valid.

According to the report, many FTI holidaymakers are hoping for the sympathy of the bus drivers. An employee of another travel company advised a family with children to try the buses, as they have a good chance of getting sympathy from a bus driver. Everyone else has to try to get by on their own.

According to “Mallorcamagazin”, the insolvency of FTI puts the holidays of more than 300,000 German citizens who have booked a holiday on Mallorca and the neighboring islands with the German tour operator at risk.
