A collaborator of billionaire Robert Miller was arrested on Tuesday for pimping, days after a series of charges for sex crimes were filed against the octogenarian.

Investigators from the Sexual Exploitation Section of the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) have announced the arrest of Teresita Fuentes, 67, in Montreal. The woman faces one count of pimping.

“The authorized charge against Ms. Fuentes is in connection with one of the 10 victims linked to the authorized charges against Mr. Miller. Following her arrest, Ms. Fuentes was released on a promise to appear at the Montreal courthouse on July 3, 2024,” the SPVM said in a press release.

Robert Miller, founder of the multinational Future Electronics, was arrested last week for sex crimes allegedly committed against 10 victims. He faces 21 counts of sexual assault, sexual exploitation in a position of authority and obtaining sexual services from a minor. Eight of the alleged victims were under the age of 18. The identities of all women are protected by publication bans.

In a second case, Robert Miller is accused of having sexually assaulted a woman in 2016 in Montreal. Additionally, no charges cover the period between 2005 and 2016.

Mr. Miller was the target of an SPVM investigation in 2009, but at the time, no charges were laid. In 2023, the investigation was restarted after a Radio-Canada report which gave the floor to several women who claimed to have been recruited as teenagers to offer him paid sexual services.

Alongside the criminal proceedings, around fifty women joined a class-action lawsuit against Mr. Miller, who continues to maintain his innocence.
