Two-year-old Rowdy wanted to spend the hot days in Texas in the cool water. He almost drowned, but the police saved his life. Now there was a big reunion.

At the beginning of May, a dramatic situation occurred in Fort Worth, Texas: Two-year-old Rowdy almost drowned in the local swimming pool. Fortunately, the local police were quickly on the scene. When Officer Davachi and Sergeant Brady from the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) arrived at the scene, the boy’s mother was already performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The officers “immediately began cardiac massage while Sergeant Brady assisted with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation,” according to the local police press release.

Although the little swimmer was rescued, things didn’t look good for the boy at first. Despite the quick help, the outlook for the little hooligan was initially bleak. He was taken to the hospital by the Fort Worth Fire Department and his condition was described in the press release as “critical, with little chance of survival for the night.”

But Rowdy proved to be a brave fighter and recovered remarkably quickly. A week after the horrific incident, on May 8, the FWPD hospital reported that Rowdy had fully recovered from the accident despite the previous complications.

As People magazine reported, shortly after the official release from the hospital, Officer Davachi, the entire second shift that responded to the original emergency call, and Rowdy and his family were reunited. Photos of this joyful reunion were posted on Facebook. Rowdy posed with teddy bears given to him by the police and enjoyed sitting in a police car. His siblings also received teddy bears and were allowed to explore the police cars.
