Three teenagers from North Dakota discover the remains of a rare T. rex. Their story is now being brought to the cinema.

An extraordinary discovery has been confirmed in North Dakota: Three young brothers have found a rare fossil of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The story of this discovery is now being told by “Jurassic Park” actor Sir Sam Neill in a documentary called “T. Rex,” as the “New York Post” reported.

Brothers Liam and Jessin Fisher and their cousin Kaiden Madsen came across the fossil while hiking in the Hell Creek Formation. They originally thought they had found the remains of a duck-billed dinosaur.

“I went to a ledge with my dad and then he and I discovered the bones,” Liam told the NY Post. They called out to their friends: “There’s a dinosaur!”

The boys sent the photo of the find to a family friend, Dr. Tyler Lyson, assistant curator of vertebrate paleontology at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Upon closer examination, it turned out to be a fossil of a juvenile T. rex.

“The fact that you set out to find a dinosaur fossil and the first one is a T. rex? The odds are one in a million,” the New York Post quoted Lyson as saying. “I had found buffalo and cattle bones before and knew these were definitely bigger,” Jessin said of his find.

Further investigations revealed that the young rex weighed about 1,600 kilos and was almost eight metres long. It was assumed that he was between 13 and 15 years old. “My friends didn’t believe me that I had found a dinosaur,” said the 12-year-old.

“This will be an important fossil and will help us determine the growth rate of T. rex and how its skeleton changed over time,” Lyson said.

The site was examined more closely and the discovery was documented by a documentary film crew. The film “T. Rex” shows the unexpected journey of the young archaeologists and is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 21. The filmmaker told ABCNews: “It gave you goosebumps.”

The case is reminiscent of a story that happened recently. Rowan, also twelve years old, found a bracelet in the mud while walking the family dog. As Sussex World reports, it turned out to be from Roman times.

He told the publication: “It was normal for me. After all, I keep so many things that I probably shouldn’t touch.” He simply listened to his gut feeling.

Many people can easily imagine spending their retirement abroad. However, the dream can also go really wrong, as in the case of Christine, who is stuck in Thailand.
