Three people were killed in a violent crime in Tirpersdorf in Vogtland. According to police, their bodies were found in a single-family home on Monday morning. The victims are an 85-year-old man, his 84-year-old wife and their 59-year-old daughter.

“The suspect has been provisionally arrested, everything else will be clarified later. The crime scene team is now here on site and is of course investigating the motive for the crime and the exact course of events,” said police spokeswoman Karolin Hemp.

A 28-year-old man had alerted the police early in the morning by calling the emergency services. He claimed to have killed his family, a police spokeswoman told the German Press Agency. The emergency services then found the three bodies. Any help came too late, explained the police spokeswoman.

According to investigators, the 28-year-old is the grandson or son of the victims. He was arrested at the crime scene without resistance. The background to the crime was initially unclear. In the morning, forensic technicians secured the crime scene.
