A tragedy occurred in Greece over the weekend. A 75-year-old emigrant and her dog were burned to death after a car accident.
A 75-year-old Austrian woman who lived in Greece for many years died during a night-time drive. According to reports from the “Krone”, the tragic accident occurred in the idyllic town of Trochala, where the victim and her partner successfully managed an olive grove.
According to “Oe24”, the incident happened on Friday evening around 10:40 p.m. when the 75-year-old was on her way back to her olive grove in her Jeep. She is said to have crashed into a stony ditch and died at the scene of the accident without any other road users being involved.
The residents of the town reported loud explosions and immediately rushed to the scene of the accident. Despite the efforts of 15 firefighters who desperately tried to rescue the woman and her beloved dog “Lillifee” from the burning wreckage, help came too late.
The police have begun investigations to discover the exact cause of the tragic accident. According to reports from “Oe24”, a leak of petrol or oil before the crash may have caused the vehicle to catch fire. However, the exact circumstances are still unclear. The newspaper also reports that the elderly woman only drove back because she wanted to return to her home country of Austria the following day.
Relatives and survivors have now said goodbye to the woman on social media. The Facebook page of the business that the deceased and her partner ran states: “Honor death as you honor birth, there is no difference, one is the other side of the coin, but it is the same coin, it is the same place where beauty exists.”
