Shocking incident in Ukraine: A 19-year-old mother was caught trying to sell her two-year-old son. According to “t-online”, the woman wanted to start a business with the proceeds of around 22,300 euros. As the portal “knewz” reports, the woman was arrested in the city of Dnipro, where the authorities confiscated large amounts of cash that the woman had received as payment for her son.
Ukrainian state radio station Suspilne reports: “She did not want to take care of her son, so she decided to sell him and use the money to start her own business. According to police, the young mother wanted to sell her child to an acquaintance.
If convicted of child trafficking, the woman faces up to 15 years in prison. The little boy was handed over to the Ukrainian social services. Doctors are now caring for the boy,” a police spokesman is quoted as saying.
