Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer has called for the deportation of migrants who have committed multiple crimes when they turn 18, even if they have not committed a new crime. Existing laws would have to be adapted to make this possible, the CDU politician said in an interview with “Sachsen Fernsehen”.

“We give people protection. If they abuse our solidarity by becoming criminals – not because they parked illegally once, but constantly and, above all, with violence – then they have no right to be here.”

“Refugee status must be withdrawn much more quickly if someone becomes a criminal,” Kretschmer said in the interview. Stronger external security by the EU and further adjustment of the benefit laws are also necessary. The number of refugees “must go down in the next few years,” he demanded, citing a figure of 30,000, 40,000 or 50,000 instead of 300,000 asylum seekers annually.

“So that integration can really be put into practice,” said Kretschmer. “We can only take in as many people as we can integrate.” This is closely linked to the areas of the job market, language courses, housing and schools.
