Cardiff and Wales Lock Seb Davies Suspended for Three Games
Cardiff’s Seb Davies has been handed a three-game suspension after receiving a red card for a dangerous tackle on Owen Watkin during the United Rugby Championship match against Ospreys. The incident occurred late in the game at Judgement Day in Cardiff City Stadium last Saturday.
Davies, who entered the match as a replacement, accepted the offense and was given a shorter ban of three weeks instead of the standard six weeks. The lock will have the option to reduce the suspension by completing the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme.
Fortunately for Davies, the ban will not affect any competitive matches as it will be served during the pre-season period leading up to the 2024-25 season. This gives the player an opportunity to learn and grow from the experience before returning to the field.
