(Sofia) The conservative party of former Prime Minister Boïko Borissov came first in the legislative elections on Sunday in Bulgaria, the sixth in three years in this Balkan country, according to polls published when the polling stations closed.
The Gerb party won 26-28% of the vote, significantly ahead of the reformists of the Let’s Continue Change/Democratic Bulgaria coalition (around 15%), which failed to maintain momentum after massive anti-corruption protests in the summer of 2020.
More details to come.
