METALLICA Dazzles Fans with First-Ever Live Performance of ‘Inamorata’ in Munich
METALLICA made history during their recent concert in Munich, Germany by performing the song “Inamorata” live for the first time ever. The event took place on May 26 at Olympiastadion, and fans were left in awe by the band’s spectacular performance.
As part of their “M72” tour in support of their latest album, “72 Seasons,” METALLICA has been wowing audiences with two-night, no-repeat shows in each city they visit. The tour kicked off in Europe, moved to North America, and has now returned to Europe with a bang. Each concert features METALLICA on a massive ring-shaped stage, complete with a central Snake Pit and four drum sets strategically placed around the circular setup for drummer Lars Ulrich to engage with the audience.
During the Munich concert, METALLICA kicked off the night with hits like “Creeping Death,” “Harvester Of Sorrow,” and “Hit The Lights.” The band also treated fans to classic tracks such as “Fight Fire With Fire,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman,” along with three songs from “72 Seasons” including the title track, “If Darkness Had A Son,” and the much-anticipated “Inamorata.”
Frontman James Hetfield introduced the song to the crowd, expressing his excitement by saying, “This next song, we have never, ever played live before. And, you know, in our band we don’t recognize the word ‘mistake’, because there are no mistakes’ there’s just unique moments that happen, all right? That’s what we need to tell ourselves. This one is from ’72 Seasons’. It’s one of my favorites, so I’m gonna like it.”
The setlist for the evening included a mix of fan favorites and newer tracks, culminating in the live debut of “Inamorata,” which is also the longest METALLICA song to date, clocking in at 11 minutes and 10 seconds. The song, which closes the “72 Seasons” album, showcases the band’s musical prowess and creativity.
