Jon Bon Jovi’s Response to Richie Sambora’s Desire to Rejoin Bon Jovi
Jon Bon Jovi is uncertain about the possibility of reuniting the band.
Former Bon Jovi member Richie Sambora expressed his interest in returning to the rock group after Jon Bon Jovi, at the age of 62, regained his voice following vocal surgery.
However, Jon Bon Jovi disclosed to Entertainment Weekly that no decision has been made regarding Sambora’s comeback.
The rock star mentioned, “You never say never. I mean, he quit the band 11-plus years ago, and he’s had to deal with a lot of things in his life. But there’s no animosity.”
“I’ve released four albums since his departure,” Bon Jovi added. “The band continues on, you know? We’ll see when we reach the point of touring.”
The current members of Bon Jovi recently released their 16th album, “Forever,” after forming in 1983 with members including Bon Jovi, Sambora, David Bryan, Tico Torres, and Alec John Such.
Sambora left the band abruptly in 2013 when he failed to show up for a concert in Calgary, Alberta, deciding to stay with his daughter Ava at the time.
In a Hulu docuseries, Sambora addressed his departure from the band, expressing regret to the fans and his former bandmates.
Since leaving Bon Jovi, Sambora has only performed with the band once, at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2018.
Despite their past differences, Sambora mentioned on “The Allison Hagendorf Show” that he is open to rejoining the band if Jon Bon Jovi’s voice fully recovers.
Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022 and is currently working on improving his voice through vocal exercises.
While Bon Jovi is not yet ready to embark on a tour to promote their new album, the singer remains hopeful about the future of the band.
