Families Seek Answers in Tragic Manitoba Crash
As the one-year anniversary of a devastating crash near Carberry, Manitoba approaches, families of the 17 victims are still left with unanswered questions regarding the investigation.
The tragic incident occurred on June 15, 2023, on the Trans-Canada Highway when a semi-truck collided with a minibus carrying a group of seniors on their way to a nearby casino.
Although video footage suggests that the truck had the right of way, authorities have been unable to interview the bus driver who sustained severe injuries in the collision.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have completed their investigation and submitted a report to Manitoba’s Crown attorney office. However, it remains uncertain whether any charges will be laid in connection to the crash.
As the community prepares to commemorate the anniversary of the tragedy, a memorial service is scheduled to take place at Dauphin’s C.N. Park. The event will feature speakers, musical performances, and the unveiling of a monument in honor of the victims.
The families affected by this heartbreaking event continue to seek closure and justice as they remember their loved ones who were lost in the devastating crash.
