Xiaomi 15 Pro to Feature 1″-Type Main Camera Upgrade
Xiaomi released the 14 Pro model in October 2023 exclusively in China, missing out on a global release. However, the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Pro is set to bring some exciting improvements to the camera setup.
According to sources, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will still maintain a 50 MP sensor configuration, but with significant upgrades to the main and telephoto cameras. The main camera will now feature a 1″-type OmniVision sensor, specifically the OV50K, marking a notable advancement from the previous OVX9000 sensor found in the 14 Pro.
While the OV50K sensor has not been officially launched by the US-Taiwanese imaging company, it is expected to outperform the already impressive OV50H sensor seen in devices like the Honor Magic6 Pro, vivo iQOO 12 series, and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.
Additionally, the telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be equipped with the Sony IMX882 sensor, a significant upgrade from the older Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor. The larger 1/1.95″ Sony sensor is expected to outperform the 1/2.76″ Samsung sensor, enhancing the overall camera capabilities of the device.
These camera upgrades are anticipated to make the Xiaomi 15 Pro a highly capable device in terms of photography, and fans are hopeful that this model will see a global release for wider accessibility and testing.
