The Huê artistic troupe performs in the street festival. With the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development,” the program takes place from June 7 to 12, bringing together nearly 30 troupes from eight countries, including France, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, and Vietnam. The participating artists serve as ambassadors, conveying the culture and art of their home countries, offering the residents a colorful cultural feast.

Janick Appelmans, 51, a member of the Belgian royal stilt walking troupe Koninklijke Steltenlopers Merchtem, mentioned the difficulty of purchasing tickets for a large group of 47 people with bulky luggage like musical instruments and stilts. According to the Belgian artist, the troupe, participating in the festival for the fifth time, had to travel on special trains and flights, but they are extremely satisfied with the journey.

Mariana Neto Brito Luz, a French member of Hiphop Cergy, stated that her dance group is participating in the festival as part of an exchange program between Huê and Cergy, a French commune located in the Val-d’Oise department, Île-de-France region. Since the two parties established cooperation relations in April 2019, several artist exchange programs have been organized.

Ooshiro Yuuga, the leader of the Japanese drum dance troupe Eisa Urakaji, shared that it is their first time in Huê, but everyone is eager to introduce the art of Eisa drum dance to Vietnam and other countries.

Furthermore, the Vietnamese artistic troupe showcased the art of don ca tai tu, music and singing, in the South of Vietnam, listed in 2013 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Huê International Arts Festival, now a prestigious label recognized internationally for its festivities and cultural and artistic activities, has promoted cultural diplomacy among artists and fostered friendships between the countries and localities involved.
