Live-Action Adaptation of Cells at Work! Reveals Main Cast and Premiere Date
The official X account for the live-action film adaptation of Akane Shimizu’s Cells at Work! manga released an early teaser trailer announcing the main cast and a December premiere date.
Mei Nagano, known for her roles in live-action films such as My Broken Mariko and Ni no Kuni, will portray Red Blood Cell, while Takeru Satō, recognized for his performances in Rurouni Kenshin and Ajin, will star as White Blood Cell. The film is directed by Hideki Takeuchi and features a script by Yūichi Tokunaga.
Cells at Work! manga originally debuted in 2015 and ended in 2021. The series has spawned multiple spin-off manga and an anime adaptation. Kodansha USA Publishing is responsible for the English release of the manga.
The upcoming live-action adaptation is highly anticipated by fans of the original manga and promises to bring the world of Cells at Work! to life on the big screen.
