(Los Angeles) American sprinter Trayvon Bromell, a two-time world medalist in the 100m, has withdrawn from the U.S. trials and will not compete in the Paris Olympics this summer, according to updated start lists Wednesday.

Bromell, 28, has two world bronze medals on the straight, in 2015 in Beijing and in 2022 in Eugene (Ore.), where the American “trials” take place from June 21 to 30.

The official list of 100m qualifiers for the selections specifies that he “withdrew” from the competition.

Bromell injured his left leg on May 15 during a race in Savona (Italy). The American has suffered numerous injuries since the start of his career, notably an Achilles tendon in 2016.

Bromell, who has a record of 9.76 s (in 2021), took 8th place in the 100m at the Rio Games in 2016 and was eliminated in the semi-finals in Tokyo in 2021.
