Briarcliff Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group have announced the upcoming release of the horror-thriller movie Werewolves, featuring Frank Grillo (known for his role in Captain America). The film is scheduled for a wide release in theaters across the United States on December 6, 2024. This collaboration marks The Solution’s second release following the success of the film Blacklight starring Liam Neeson, as the sales firm expands its domestic distribution reach.
In Werewolves, a supermoon phenomenon activates a hidden gene in every individual worldwide, transforming those exposed to moonlight into werewolves for a single night. The resulting chaos leads to the deaths of nearly a billion people. As the Supermoon reappears a year later, the suspense and terror continue to unfold. The movie features a talented cast including Katrina Law (from NCIS), Ilfenesh Hadera (featured in Godfather Of Harlem), James Michael Cummings (known for City On The Hill), and Lou Diamond Phillips (from Prodigal Son). Steven C. Miller, director of Line Of Duty, brings the story to life based on a script by Matthew Kennedy (writer of Inheritance).
The lead producers of Werewolves include Myles Nestel, Craig Chapman, and Steven C. Miller from The Solution, as well as James Michael Cummings and Jim Cardwell from Monty The Dog, Luillo Ruiz from Pimiente Films, and Sevier Crespo. International sales for the film are managed by The Solution, with an impressive lineup of executive producers such as Tom Ortenberg, Frank Grillo, Lisa Wilson from The Solution, Clay Pecorin and Russell Geyser from Rainmaker Films, Vanzil T Burke and Victor T Burke from Burke Entertainment, and Gary Raskin and Alastair Burlingham from Sherborne Media.
CEO Tom Ortenberg expressed the excitement of the Briarcliff team in collaborating once again with The Solution Entertainment Group on Werewolves, highlighting the thrilling experience that director Steven C. Miller promises to deliver to audiences. Co-CEO of The Solution, Myles Nestel, echoed the enthusiasm for the upcoming release, emphasizing the exceptional cast led by Frank Grillo, Katrina Law, and Ilfenesh Hadera. The practical effects used in creating the werewolves, designed by Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr (renowned for their work on the Alien and Predator series), aim to bring a fresh and exciting approach to the genre, taking it back to its roots.
With the release of Werewolves exclusively in theaters later this year, audiences can anticipate a captivating cinematic experience that combines stellar performances, suspenseful storytelling, and innovative creature designs. The filmmakers hope that viewers will enjoy the film as much as they did in bringing it to life on the big screen.
