A 21-year-old woman is found dead in a forest near Niebüll in the district of North Friesland. Investigators have now arrested a suspect. The 35-year-old comes from the same place as his victim.
After the discovery of a dead 21-year-old woman in a forest near Niebüll, the police have arrested a suspect. A judge issued an arrest warrant on Thursday against the 35-year-old from Niebüll on suspicion of murder in conjunction with rape, police and the public prosecutor’s office announced.
According to initial findings, there was no previous relationship between the suspect and the victim. The man, who lived some distance away from the woman, had previously been identified based on DNA traces.
The motives and background of the crime are currently still the subject of investigations by the homicide squad, the police and public prosecutor’s office reported. Investigators do not currently see any connection with a sexual offense reported in Leck on April 23rd.
The 21-year-old was reported missing by her relatives on Friday after she had not contacted them as agreed. She was then discovered lifeless in a wooded area on Saturday night. According to earlier police reports, the young woman was last seen on Friday at around 8 a.m. when she left the residential facility where she lives. She had wanted to do some exercise in the Marschenpark west of Niebüll.
