Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season Anime’s Character Video Highlights Koyomi Araragi
The Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season anime released a character video showcasing Koyomi Araragi, voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. The show is set to premiere on the ABEMA streaming service in Japan on July 6 at 10:00 p.m. JST, with new episodes airing on Saturdays.
Chief director Akiyuki Simbo and director Midori Yoshizawa are leading the production, with Fuyashi Tou overseeing the series scripts alongside Simbo, and Miku Ooshima as the scriptwriter. Akio Watanabe is back as the character designer and chief animation director, accompanied by Nobuhiro Sugiyama and Kana Miyai. Satoru KĹsaki will compose the music, with studio SHAFT returning to adapt the Off Season and Monster Season books in NisiOisin’s Monogatari series. The theme song for the show, “Undead,” will be performed by YOASOBI.
The Monogatari series began with the two-volume Bakemonogatari story in 2006, leading to the first anime adaptation in 2009. The “final season” concluded with Zoku Owarimonogatari in 2014, hinting at a “Next Season Tsugimonogatari.” The “Off Season” volumes, including Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari, were released between 2015 and 2017, featuring short stories from different points in the series. The “Monster Season” started with the Shinobumonogatari novel in 2017, continuing into college with novels like Yoimonogatari, Amarimonogatari, Ĺgimonogatari, and Shinomonogatari. The most recent addition to the series, Ikusamonogatari, was released in May 2023.
