The new NHL team has found its name for the first season: the Utah Hockey Club.
His long-term identity will be chosen later.
Smith Entertainment Group announced the move on Thursday and revealed the first logos and jerseys that will be used in 2024-25, alongside the formalization of the $1.2 billion sale. Ryan Smith’s company, which also owns the NBA’s Utah Jazz, purchased the team formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes in April.
No date has been set for the presentation of the permanent brands and logos, which will be chosen following a vote of supporters which will take place until June 20. The six finalist names are Blizzard, Mammoth, Outlaws, Venom, Yeti or retaining the name Utah Hockey Club, or Utah HC.
One constant will be the light blue, black and white color scheme, which is expected to continue. He was chosen to complement the Jazz’s “Mountain Basketball” purple.
