Get ready to indulge in some marmalade sandwiches as the highly anticipated first trailer for Paddington 3 has been unveiled. Titled Paddington in Peru, the film is set to hit theaters in November and follows the lovable bear on a new adventure to South America to visit Aunt Lucy alongside the Brown family. However, upon arrival, Paddington receives surprising news from a guitar-playing nun at the home for retired bears – Aunt Lucy is missing on a scientific expedition.
The star-studded cast includes Olivia Colman as the nun and Antonio Banderas as a daring sailor who assists in the search for Aunt Lucy. Ben Whishaw reprises his role as the voice of Paddington, while Imelda Staunton voices Aunt Lucy. Fans can also expect to see familiar faces such as Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent, and Julie Walters returning to their respective roles.
Notably, Sally Hawkins, who portrayed Mrs. Brown, will not be returning for the third installment, with Emily Mortimer taking over the role. Additionally, the film marks a change in the director’s chair, with Dougal Wilson making his feature film debut, taking over from Paul King, who directed the first two movies.
The previous Paddington films were a massive success, grossing over $500 million worldwide and receiving critical acclaim. Even Queen Elizabeth II made a special appearance alongside Paddington in a video segment created for the platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022. With the new trailer generating excitement among fans, Paddington 3 is poised to continue the heartwarming and adventurous journey of everyone’s favorite bear.
