An intoxicated Scotsman attacked and insulted a train conductor and now faces charges of attempted bodily harm.
After being banned from continuing his journey, a Scottish football fan insulted and attacked a train conductor in Lower Franconia. Investigators measured the 62-year-old’s breath alcohol level at around 1.4 per mille, police said on Friday. The railway employee who was attacked was unharmed in the incident on Thursday. However, he was unable to continue working.
The 62-year-old Scot was reportedly traveling with his family on the train from Cologne to Munich to watch the opening match of the European Football Championship. During the journey, he behaved aggressively and harassed other passengers.
When the man finally had to leave the train in Würzburg, he insulted the train employee several times, pushed him and tried to grab him by the collar. This was prevented by the Federal Police and DB Security. The officers handcuffed the man and took him to the station. The 62-year-old must now answer for attempted bodily harm.
