CSU General Secretary Martin Huber has spoken out in favor of a coalition between the Union parties and the SPD after the upcoming federal election. “Black-Green is not an option,” Huber told the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND). “The SPD must first find its way, but many issues are easier to answer with it.”

Regarding the rejection of a coalition with the Greens, Huber said: “A change in policy is definitely not achievable with the Greens because they have no answers to the pressing questions of our time.”

Huber also spoke out in favor of a new “Marshall Plan” to boost the German economy. Specifically, Huber believes this includes a “growth agenda” that includes massive “investments in high-tech” and artificial intelligence and promotes innovation. In addition, there is a need for “a boost in reducing bureaucracy.”

“The surveys show that many people are afraid of decline,” he told the RND. “That’s why it’s so important that we give the economy, innovation and openness to technology a boost.”

The Bavarian gave a negative assessment of the current policies of the three traffic light parties SPD, Greens and FDP. He said the government had done a poor job, especially in the areas of migration and economic policy. “The once strong tanker ‘MS Deutschland’ has become a red-green-yellow ship of fools that is in danger of going awry. This is an economic stimulus package for the AfD,” he told the RND.
