The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning to the public regarding a mushroom-infused chocolate bar that has led to several people being hospitalized. The FDA released a statement about Diamond Shruumz “microdosing” chocolate bars on June 7. These chocolate bars contain a special blend of nootropics that claim to provide a relaxed euphoric experience without psilocybin, as stated on the brand’s website.
According to the FDA’s website, in collaboration with America’s Poison Centers and other partners, they are currently investigating a series of illnesses linked to the consumption of Diamond Shruumz-brand Microdosing Chocolate Bars. The advisory message from the FDA strongly advises against eating, selling, or serving these chocolate bars, and the investigation is ongoing.
Microdosing is a trend where individuals consume small amounts of psychedelic substances to potentially enhance productivity, creativity, and mood. Diamond Shruumz promotes its products as offering a subtle, sumptuous experience and a more creative state of mind. However, government officials have reported cases of seizures and vomiting in consumers who have ingested these chocolate bars.
Some individuals who fell ill after consuming Diamond Shruumz-brand Microdosing Chocolate Bars experienced severe symptoms such as seizures, confusion, abnormal heart rates, and nausea. Six people required hospitalization, while all eight individuals sought medical attention. It’s important to note that there have been no reported deaths associated with these incidents.
Despite Diamond Shruumz claiming that their products do not contain psychedelic substances like psilocybin, government officials are urging caution. The brand emphasizes that their ingredients are carefully selected to provide a safe and enjoyable experience without the presence of scheduled drugs.
Consumers are warned to keep these products away from children and teenagers, as the packaging and marketing may appeal to younger individuals due to its candy-like appearance. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to have conversations with children about the potential risks associated with consuming these chocolate bars.
The FDA and CDC are actively investigating Diamond Shruumz products to gather more information and ensure the safety of consumers. Fox News Digital reached out to Diamond Shruumz for comment but has not received a response at the time of this report.
