(Paris) The WTA tournaments of the past week did not give rise to any upheavals within the rankings, with the top 10 unchanged and still quietly dominated by Iga Swiatek. The former queen of the circuit, the Japanese Naomi Osaka, continues her comeback.
Behind the unbeatable Swiatek, the American Coco Gauff and the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka still complete the podium. None of the three played last week.
Much lower in the ranking, Osaka, which stopped in the quarter-finals of the ‘s-Hertogenbosch tournament, continued its rise and gained 12 places (113th).
The Japanese, who returned this year after more than a year’s break and was also allowed to participate in the Paris Olympics, was playing her first grass-court tournament in five years in the Netherlands.
