A McDonald’s employee caused horror when she shot a customer after an argument at the drive-thru counter in the USA. The incident was documented by surveillance video.
Incorrectly assembled orders in fast-food restaurants are annoying. In a case in Lakeland, Florida, reported by the Daily Mail, the error could easily have been fatal. During an argument at the drive-in counter, 22-year-old Chassidy G. shot at her customers.
According to police, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at a McDonald’s restaurant on East Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland, east of Tampa. The conflict began after a customer complained that his order was incorrect. According to the Daily Mail, the customer then threw some objects and cups through the window. The McDonald’s employee in turn threw a drink cup at the customer.
The incident can be traced using footage from a surveillance camera that the local police have. The Daily Mail further reports that the customers then drove away in a car. The images show G. leaving the store and firing a pistol at the car.
According to the report, a projectile hit the car, but the occupants were unharmed. The McDonald’s employee was arrested and released the next day on bail of $15,000 (around 14,000 euros).
The case shows that employees in fast food restaurants are not to be trifled with. In January 2023, a dispute at the Waffle House chain went viral. An employee who was nicknamed “Waffle House Wendy” online became an icon for many social media users.
A video shows the young woman blocking a chair thrown at her with her hands, seemingly effortlessly. The woman, whose real name is Hailie, reported on the course of the argument in an interview with Fox News. A group sat down in a cordoned-off area, whereupon Hailie did not serve them.
The Fox News video also shows a violent fight between the employees and the group. Hailie reveals that after moving, she applied for a job at a Waffle House branch again and found out that she was on a so-called “do not hire list” because of the incident. McDonald’s shooter Chassidy G. is also unlikely to work for the fast food chain again.
