In addition to the seriously injured driver, police have discovered a body in the back seat of a car involved in an accident on the A81 in Baden-Württemberg. The circumstances of the death are still unclear and a possible violent crime is being investigated, a police spokesman said on Tuesday evening.

Road users said that the car had veered off the road to the left near Epfendorf in the Rottweil district. The car then crashed into the central guardrail at high speed, according to a joint statement from the Konstanz police and the Rottweil public prosecutor’s office.

At the scene of the accident, the driver of the car was found in the car with life-threatening injuries. He probably inflicted the injuries on himself. When the emergency services checked the car, they discovered the body in the back seat.

The driver was taken to hospital by helicopter and, according to a spokesman, could not be questioned at first. There was initially no information about the identity of the dead person.
