The Detroit Pistons have fired head coach Monty Williams after just one season.
The Pistons went 14-68 last season, the worst in the NBA. Williams was in the first year of a six-year contract expected to pay him $78.5 million.
However, the team decided to make changes to its management team after the campaign. Trajan Langdon was hired as president of basketball operations and general manager Troy Weaver was fired.
The campaign was disastrous for the Pistons, who won two of their first three games, then didn’t win a single game for the next two months.
They had a 28-game losing streak, the worst single-season losing streak in NBA history.
