The Montreal facilities of L3Harris have obtained two contracts from the Irving Shipbuilding shipyard (Halifax) for the design of integrated platform management systems as well as controls and instrumentation.

This is what revolves around the propulsion, electricity generation and auxiliary machinery of ships. This equipment will be designed for combat ships to be built by Irving Shipbuilding for the Royal Canadian Navy.

The value of the agreements was not specified. The contracts stem from the National Shipbuilding Strategy. “The integrated systems that L3Harris provides on ships are crucial to increasing the safety and situational awareness of their crews,” said Manuel Perez, director of international business development at L3Harris.

Irving is to build 15 warships as part of the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
